History
Utilising 26 years of experience in the design of quality Irish pubs, GGD Global was formed in 1980, quickly becoming established as Ireland’s leading pub designers with an unrivalled reputation for the quality of our design, glasswork, joinery and furniture.
During the 1980s, the Irish Pub Concept, based on the visual appeal and unique atmosphere of traditional Irish pubs, was developed to export the authentic Irish pub around the world. For the concept to succeed, quality, authenticity, creative flair and business expertise were essential. Little wonder that Guinness chose GGD Global as its first approved Irish Pub Concept design and build company.
In 1988, GGD Global delivered the first Irish Pub Concept pub, the award-winning Murphy’s Bleachers, situated across from Wrigley Field and the Chicago Cubs baseball team. Since then, GGD Global has designed and constructed hundreds of successful Irish pubs and restaurants in every major market in the world, including Australasia, Germany, Italy, France, the US, England, Japan and Scandinavia.
In the late 1990s, we set up our US headquarters in Chicago and based our South Pacific operations in Sydney. Our latest US project, Cregeen’s Irish pub of Little Rock, opens on St Patrick’s Day, 2007 (see Featured Project).
In 2005, we moved our Irish headquarters to Burke’s of Amiens Street in Dublin. Re-designed by GGD Global as our flagship Irish pub and restaurant, Burke’s also serves as a training facility for bar, kitchen and management staff and a base for clients on our Irish Pub business courses.
As pioneers of the Irish Pub Concept, and with 150 years of experience in designing Irish pubs, no other company captures the true essence of the Irish pub experience like GGD Global. With the worldwide market for Irish pubs barely scratched, isn’t it time you paid us a visit?
