What we achieved
W.J. Morrissey’s is an authentic Irish pub designed and built in Ireland by GGD Global, a leading pub designer in Dublin. The wood is crafted in Ireland, the furniture is made in Northern Ireland, and the design is uniquely Irish Victorian.W.J. Morrissey’s life reflects those of many Irish immigrants who came to the UnitedStates and succeeded in living the American dream. W.J.’s father brought his family from Tipperary, Ireland, to the United States with hopes of beginning a new life. A World War One hero, his father settled right across the way on Fulton Street, where W.J. was born.
After attending college, W.J. worked his way up the ladder at National Biscuit in Niagara Falls. He was eventually promoted to operate the Canadian operation of Shredded Wheat. It was then, at the high point of his triumphant career, that W.J.’s life was stopped short by a heart attack. His life is a testament to the fruits of hard work and determination, both personally and professionally.W.J. Morrissey’s Irish Pub is a tribute to this man, and the countless other Irishmen and women who came to America to realize their dreams.
Testimonials
"WJ Morrissey’s, the Cobblestone District’s abandoned terminal turned Irish pub, opened its doors on St. Patrick’s Day and has been serving pints and shots to Sabres fans ever since. Last week, they began offering customers a limited pub menu. The interior is stunning; no detail was left to chance."
