de Vere's Irish Pub
Sacramento, California
Gerry Gilliland commissioned GGD to build an authentic Irish ambiance which is enhanced by its vintage memorabilia, exquisite celtic carvings and hand painted murals depicting the legendary Irish warrior, Fionn MacCumhail. Many of the staff originally hails from Ireland, helping preserve the very essence of Ireland and making one truly feel back in the Old Country.
In 2001, in honour of her late step-father, she packed up the artifacts in his Pub in Ireland and arranged for the entire bar to be painstakingly dismantled and shipped through the Panama Canal to Santa Monica. A crew of Irish craftsmen meticulously reconstructed it and on St. Patrick’s Day, 2002, Jake & Annie’s was reborn as Finn McCool’s Irish Pub – an authentic Irish Pub right at the beach in the heart of sunny California.
