THE COUNTRY SHOP Irish Pub Design
The Country Shop Pub originated in small rural communities throughout Ireland where the shopkeeper would double as a publican. The Pub would reside in a designated area at the side of the shop furnished with trestle tables and stools. Typically, open roof beams would adorn the ceiling complemented by whitewashed wall and of course an open fireplace. Groceries stacked to the ceiling would provide the only elements of colour.
